The Makita TD002GZ 40V Max Impact Driver is Makita’s flagship high-performance model, designed for the Japanese domestic market. Unlike international variants, the TD002GZ is made in Japan, where Makita tools are known for premium build quality, tighter tolerances, and superior performance.

Engineered for speed and control, the TD002GZ features dual spring technology, which automatically adjusts impact force depending on the workload. This delivers faster, more efficient fastening across a wide range of applications.

With a maximum impact rate of 4,600 IPM, it offers the fastest tightening speed in Makita impact driver history, approximately 25% faster than the previous generation. The dual spring system operates in two stages:

• A softer initial spring for fast startup and smooth engagement
• A stronger secondary spring for high-torque, powerful impacts

The TD002GZ also provides excellent versatility with 4 power and speed settings and 6 specialised assist modes, optimised for different fastening tasks:

• Wood Mode: Starts at a lower speed to properly seat the screw, then increases to maximum speed to reduce cam-out and improve finish
• T-Mode 1 (Thin Metal): Drives self-drilling screws at high speed and stops shortly after impact begins, helping prevent over-tightening and ensuring a clean finish
• T-Mode 2 (Thick Metal): Starts at high speed, then reduces rotation once impact begins to prevent screw breakage or stripping in thicker materials
• Bolt Mode 1: Stops immediately once impact begins in forward rotation. In reverse, it stops as soon as impact ends to prevent nuts from falling off
• Bolt Mode 2: Stops approximately 0.3 seconds after impact begins in forward rotation. In reverse, it stops when impact ends
• Bolt Mode 3: Stops approximately 1 second after impact begins in forward rotation. In reverse, it slows to 180 RPM once impact ends for greater control

A button above the trigger allows quick and easy switching between modes.

Built for durability, the TD002GZ features an IP56 rating, providing strong resistance to dust and water in harsh work environments. It also includes a redesigned LED light system for bright illumination, especially when working in tight spaces or corners. The tool can also function as a work light by pulling the trigger while the forward and reverse lever is in the neutral position.

Warranty: As this is an imported Japanese domestic model, manufacturer warranty does not apply. A 1-year store warranty is included from the date of purchase.
