The Hioki 3480 is a non-contact AC voltage detector designed for quick voltage presence checks in electrical and maintenance work. Measuring just 126 mm in length, it’s a genuinely compact tool that fits easily in a pocket or tool pouch.
The detector identifies live AC voltages between 40 V and 600 V (50/60 Hz) and provides both visual (red LED) and audible (buzzer) indications when voltage is detected. An adjustable sensitivity control lets you fine-tune detection in different environments or when working near adjacent conductors.
Powered by two LR44 button batteries, the 3480 offers approximately 15 hours of standby operation. A green LED shows battery status on startup, and the built-in auto power-off feature conserves energy by switching off after about three minutes of inactivity. Its CAT IV 600 V rating supports use in general electrical work, switchboards, and maintenance settings where quick voltage presence checks are needed.
