The HiKOKI WH36DD 36V impact driver is a flagship model in HiKOKI’s professional impact driver range, combining high performance with a compact design and advanced fastening control. It uses HiKOKI’s Multi Volt battery system, features a brushless motor and is IP56 rated for dust and water resistance, making it well suited to demanding worksite conditions.

The WH36DD features HiKOKI’s patented Triple Hammer mechanism, which uses three striking points instead of the conventional two. The mechanism also adjusts the striking frequency according to the workload, helping reduce vibration and improve control during fastening. The result is a smoother operating feel and reduced bit cam-out.

Compared with the previous-generation WH36DC, the WH36DD features a more compact 111mm head length. This shorter design improves manoeuvrability when working in confined spaces, making it easier to use around structural components, electrical installations and other tight areas.

The WH36DD also upgrades the lighting system from three LEDs to nine LEDs, providing more even illumination around the fastening point and helping reduce shadows cast by the driver bit. Light intensity can be adjusted directly from the control panel, with high, medium and low settings.

The control panel also features a backlight for improved visibility in dimly lit areas, making it easier to check and adjust the driver's settings when working in dark spaces.

The HiKOKI WH36DD includes five built-in operating modes to suit various applications:

1. Soft
Limits the maximum speed to 900rpm for controlled fastening in lighter applications such as smaller screws or fragile materials.

2. Power
Delivers the driver's full performance, with a maximum speed of 3400rpm and 4100ipm. This is the general purpose mode for everyday tasks.

3. Bolt:
Designed for tightening and loosening bolts and nuts, Bolt Mode offers two operating settings: Repeat and Single. The mode switching button toggles between the two settings. The Bolt indicator stays illuminated in Repeat Mode and flashes in Single Mode.

Repeat Mode keeps the driver running while the trigger is held. Single Mode automatically stops after a preset number of impacts, helping provide greater control during fastening.

When loosening fasteners in reverse using Single Mode, the Auto-Slow function helps prevent nuts from falling off the thread. With the trigger fully depressed, the driver automatically slows down as the fastener loosens, helping retain the nut for easier handling.

4. Tek
Designed for self-drilling screws, with a maximum speed of 3,700 rpm. The specialised operating characteristics are suited to applications involving Tek screws and other self-drilling fasteners.
